Technical Assistance

The Technical Assistance program consists of an on-the-ground technical support team that is responsible for working with counties across the state to support existing or future broadband planning initiatives such as:

  • Collaborating with communities, businesses and organizations to develop and help execute community broadband plans;
  • Identifying broadband availability based on the North Carolina Broadband Map;
  • Engaging and increasing partnerships with broadband providers;
  • Researching strategies for increased connectivity;
  • Collecting inventory of local level broadband resources such as public access centers and digital literacy training programs; and
  • Addressing the overall importance of broadband access and the benefits of broadband.

The technical assistance team is also responsible for identifying funding sources to help communities with their broadband planning initiatives. View available funding sources.
